For inspiritana's latest studio album 'Mesmerized', Cale Alit gathered seven international musicians to craft a special sound experience - where timeless music meets cinematic soundscapes.

As the 72-stringed Persian Santoor fuses with the violin, flute, bass, guitar, piano, drums and angelic voices, this album is certainly one of its kind. Not only the mind-blowing artists involved in this project, but also the incredible production skills of producer Kidi Blixum shaped Mesmerized to what it became - a truly unique musical expression of independent artists, playing with soul and heart.

Mesmerized: The Vision of this Album

Due to my nomadic lifestyle for the past ten years, I (Cale) have been playing with countless musicians from all over the world - many times sharing absolutely unique and mesmerizing music sessions with all different instruments. With this album, I wanted to capture some of the magic that happens when the ethereal sound of the Persian Santoor meets with the elegance and power of other instruments and voices. Hence, I have invited some of my best musician friends and colleagues from different countries to collaborate with me on this special album.

Energetically, 'Mesmerized' follows the vision that I have always had with the music project inspiritana: to inspire people to reconnect to the power of the present moment and magic of life. This music is not merely for entertainment but rather a deep journey to the essence of existence.

When I received the first mixes from my producer Kidi and listened to those tracks, I had only one word in my head: Mesmerized - 'cause that's how this music made me feel. I was speechless, fascinated, mesmerized. I really hope to transmit this feeling to everyone who listens to this album. May it ignite the spark of wonder and awe in you, too.

Mesmerized - A Musical Co-Creation of 7 Musicians

Besides Cale Alit on the Persian Santoor, Mesmerized features six other incredible artists.

First and foremost, there is Kidi Blixum, a professional sound engineer and music producer from the Netherlands. He usually produces film music and is responsible for the cinematic sound quality of the album. Beyond that, he also plays guitar, bass and piano on Mesmerized.

Then there is Sai Fuentes, a virtuoso on the violin with Cuban origins. She is featured on four different tracks.

Anais Sauvage is an exceptionally gifted singer from France who lends her beautifully soft voice to three songs of the album.

Manuelro is a studied Jazz multi-instrumentalist from Germany who plays Bansuri flute on three tracks of the album.

Furthermore, there is Eve-Marie Roy, an exceptional singer and songwriter from Canada whose incredible voice is a fundamental part of the song 'Eternity', and Felix TheMonk from Mexico who plays drums and sings on 'Is This Now?', probably the most joyful song of the album.

About the Music of this Album

It's not always easy to describe sound with words - especially with such a special album that combines different instruments in such a unique way as Mesmerized. The album has elements of film music, meditative and healing music, ambient and (neo-)classical music.

With its immersive cinematic sound, it carries the listener to realms beyond the ordinary and inspires to dive fully into the music - and the present moment. Fans of ambient and instrumental music will be pleased with this unique piece of art just as those seeking for unique independent art and willing to discover new influences in music they might have never heard.

Ultimately, the sound of this album can be described best with a single word: Mesmerized.

The Persian Santoor and its ancient tradition

The Persian Santoor, with its rich history and its 72 strings, belongs to the instrument groups of (hammered) dulcimers. The English word “dulcimer” originates from the Latin “dulcis” (sweet) and the Greek word “melos” (song) and already points towards the delicate and ethereal sound that is being evoked by hitting the strings with softened wooden mallets.

The Santoor, or Santur, has been an important cornerstone of classical Iranian music for centuries – and still today resembles the essence of Persian culture. In "72 Strings & I," however, Cale Alit (inspiritana) reimagines this beautiful instrument for contemporary ears, creating a soundscape that feels both refreshingly new and familiar to listeners from all over the world.

A New Perspective on the Santur

What sets this album apart is inspiritana’s unique approach to the Santoor. By tuning the Persian instrument to a Western music scale and incorporating his own melodic-rhythmic style, the Santoor's traditional sound is transformed into a continuous melodic tapestry that transcends cultural boundaries.

The melodies are designed to be both soothing and inspiring, with some tracks having a more melancholic and contemplative characters and others being more uplifting and motivating.

Healing Music in Solfeggio Frequencies

"72 Strings & I" is more than just an album; it is an invitation to connect with the healing power of music. While the instrument was tuned to concert tuning during the recording process, we managed to infuse the sound with certain healing frequencies in the production of the EP. We have “calibrated” the frequencies to 111 Hz, 432 Hz, 963 Hz & 1074 Hz (aligning with the so-called "Solfeggio Frequencies"). You don’t need to understand this, but you will just feel it in the music being more harmonious and holistic in its sound.

THE GOLD EDITION – 1 Hour of Santoor Meditation Music Extra

You can’t get enough of the magic of the Santur? Then treat yourself with the special “72 Strings & I - GOLD EDITION” featuring six more tracks of nine to twelve minutes each – long continuous music journeys inviting you to dive deep into the healing sounds of the Persian Santoor played by Cale Alit.

Oppose to the tracks on the main EP of “72 Strings & I”, the songs of this collection are telling long, subtle stories and take the time explore a certain theme in-depth, providing the perfect music for meditation practice, yoga sessions or other mindful and relaxing activities.

For this purpose, the Santur was also tuned to A=432 Hz or 444 Hz (C=528 Hz) in some of the songs, aligning with the healing Solfeggio frequencies. Furthermore, we have then aligned the sound with further Solfeggio frequencies in the process of audio-production, as explained above.

Please note that these recordings were taken out in nature and there are a few minor natural sounds in the recording - oppose to a studio recording, these sessions hence carry the spirit of nature directly.

On my YouTube channel, some of these songs have been enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of people around the globe. With this collection, you get the whole set of the six best recordings of 2024, adding up to about 60 minutes of pure playtime of mesmerizing Persian Santur healing music.
